New Announcements / Upcoming Events

1 Samuel Bible reading NEW.png

Reading the Bible is a huge part of growing as a Christian. We are of course free/encouraged to read the scriptures on our own, and there is no one "right" way or right order to do it. But, it is also possible to read the scriptures together, and it is a huge blessing to do so!

We often go through reading plans on the YouVersion Bible App together: here's what we're up to on there:

- We're currently going through the New Testament in a Year plan (it's not too late to jump in if you would like!)

- We are also starting a NEW PLAN this coming Monday, February 16th. We're going to be going through the book of 1 Samuel together. If you'd like to join, see instructions below.

TO GET ONTO A PLAN:
All you have to do to get connected to one or both of the plans we're doing is simply text 506-652-4330 or email office@theharbourcc.ca and say you'd like to join! We will guide you into the plan(s) from there.

A few things to note on the "church business" side of things...

Membership Agreements - 2026.png

It's time once again to talk about membership agreements.

As a registered charitable organization, we are required by the Canada Revenue Agency to have some sort of identifiable membership roster as a church. The way we have chosen to do this is by asking people to sign a membership agreement each year. The membership agreement is a simple yet intentional expression of your commitment to be all in with your church family at The Harbour. It also allows you to vote at various church meetings throughout the course of the year.

To be clear - if you're involved in the life of our church, then you're part of the family, whether or not you sign a membership agreement. There's no A team and B team in the church - everyone who is part of the family is loved, valued and vital. If you don't want to sign one, that is totally your call and it won't change the way anybody feels about you!

But if you want to make an expression of your commitment to be all in with your church family, and you'd like to have the privilege of being able to vote at congregational meetings, we'd encourage you to sign.

- We offer the membership agreement via paper copy (they are available for pickup at the church building, i.e. on Sundays) OR online (click here for the online version)

- You can sign a membership agreement at any point during the course of the year; just bear in mind that if you want to vote at our Annual General Meeting (in late February), you need to have signed a membership agreement since the start of 2026.

- Every membership agreement requires the elders to 'sign off' on it, so particularly if you're new/have never been a member before, you can expect the elders to follow up with you after you sign one. New members are also encouraged to take our Harbour 101 course in order to become more familiar with some of the finer points about our church - it's entirely online and will take about one hour of your time (click here to go to the 101 course - password is Harbour101)

If you have any questions, contact Braden Jones.

Tax Receipts 2025.png

As a registered charity, our church is able to issue tax receipts for those who make contributions to the church.

2025 tax receipts are now available - if you gave to the church last year, there will be a receipt for you. If you started giving in 2025, or if you moved/changed addresses recently, you'll want to make sure to let us know so we can send your tax receipt accordingly. Simply text the word "update" to 506-652-4330 to start the conversation. If you've been giving since before 2025 and your address hasn't changed, you shouldn't need to do anything (but let us know if you don't get one).

AGM 2026.png

Our church's Annual General Meeting (AGM) is happening on Sunday, February 22nd after our morning worship gathering.

The AGM is an opportunity for us to look back on the year behind us, as well to be encouraged for the year ahead. For example, we will review some of the things God did in the life of our church in 2025, vote in a board of directors for 2026, and more.

Everyone is welcome to attend this meeting, but only signed members (people who have signed a membership agreement since the start of January 2026) will be permitted to vote at this meeting.

More details are to come, but for now, mark your calendar!

Ongoing Announcements / Ministries

Discipling Groups.png

One of the central ministries in our church are our discipling groups. Groups of various sizes and makeups meet at different times all through the week, for the purpose of spurring each other on to get closer to Jesus.

Discipling groups are powerful and can serve as great vehicles through which we grow closer to God and each other. They are a GREAT way to take further steps in your walk with the Lord!

For more information on joining a group, contact Richard Jones or Nancy Jones.

Wednesday Coffee.png

Wednesday Morning Coffee happens every Wednesday from 8:30-10:30 AM in our side building. It's designed to be a place to build relationships and experience community. There is always free coffee/tea and breakfast sandwiches.

Come as you are, either for the whole time, or drop in for a while!

Youth Group (General).png

Our youth ministry is a great way for kids in middle school and high school to learn, grow in their faith, and experience community together!

Youth group generally happens every Monday night, but there are some moving parts to the schedule. Some Monday evenings are reserved just for youth group and typically run from 6:30-8:30 PM at the church building. But, every other Monday is also 242 night, where people of all ages come together at the church building, and the youth break off into their own group partway through the evening.

The best practice is to get connected to the youth leaders, who will keep everybody updated about the schedule and what's going on when. To get started, contact Mark Ketch for more info!

Outflow Generic.png

Our church helps to serve the evening meal at the Outflow men's shelter on the first Sunday of every month. It is a great and worthwhile ministry, and we are always looking for more help! There are lots of jobs to be done at these dinners, so whatever your "skill set" is, there's a place for you. Contact Chris Chambers for more info!

Pre-Service Prayer.png

Everyone is welcome to come together Sundays at 9:30 AM to pray over our worship gatherings! It's very simple - we pray over the worship gathering that is about to happen. We pray for the presence of God, the movement of the Holy Spirit, for hearts to be open, for the church to be built up, and much more. It's a great opportunity to dig deep in prayer in a meaningful way!

This pre-service prayer takes place every Sunday at 9:30 AM in the 2nd classroom on the right in the church basement.

Part of our ongoing worship to God is the giving of our tithes and offerings.

How to give:
- Via cash or cheque in our offering box on Sunday mornings
- Via e-transfer (send to offering@theharbourcc.ca)
