A Few Things About This Coming Sunday
Here are a few important details about our worship gathering this coming Sunday, September 13th...
- We are back to our regular time of 10:30 AM on Sunday (we met at a different time this past weekend)
- Kids' church is back in full swing for kids aged 3-10 (we've been ages 3-6 over the summer)
- Starting this Sunday, there is now a staffed nursery for kids 0-2 years old! They will need to be checked in just like the older kids.
- We are starting a new sermon series this weekend in the book of Job!
Make plans to start your week right, by being present and participating in the corporate gathering of the church!
Men of The Harbour - we are having a MEN'S NIGHT next Wednesday, September 16th, 6:00 PM at the church building!
It is going to be an incredible night of food, fellowship and growing together. We will eat, worship, get into God's Word, and pray together - time well-spent!
The Bible says (and we believe it) that "iron sharpens iron"; one of the ways that we can grow more and more into the men God has created us to be is by walking together shoulder to shoulder, being in community, opening the Bible together, and lifting each other's arms up along the journey. That's what this men's night is all about!

There is a men's breakfast happening next Saturday, September 19th at the Garnett Settlement Christian Church at 8:30 AM. Contact Mark Ketch if you'd like to go!
More exciting news to share - our 242 ministry is getting ready to start up again soon! Our first meeting for the fall is happening on Monday, September 21st!
242 is all about people from all ages and walks of faith coming together to explore and pursue Jesus in the context of community.
We start with a delicious meal at 5:30 PM, which is also a great time to sit and talk together. We split into age groups at 6:00 for teaching, discussion, encouragement and prayer. There are groups for all ages! We are dismissed at 7:00, but everyone is welcome to hang around afterward!
242 nights are always really special, so make plans to join us on the 21st!
In our church, the beginning of fall is often a season of new Discipleship Groups starting up.
Discipleship Groups are a vital part of the life of our church. We grow best when we are in community with other people; our groups are therefore designed to help people be discipled and to disciple others. This is a huge part of the MISSION of the church - more Jesus in my life and in other people's lives!
We have been asking you to think and pray about how God might be leading you to engage in the mission this upcoming year. How do you need to step up in your own personal discipleship journey? Who is God leading you to disciple? Are you going to facilitate/co-facilitate a Discipleship Group this year?
Here are two simple next steps for you:
1) Keep praying and seeking wisdom from God on this!
2) If/when he lays on your heart that...
- You need to take intentional steps to be discipled yourself - particularly to get into a Discipleship Group...
- You need to be discipling others (but maybe you aren't sure where to start)...
- You feel the call to facilitate/co-facilitate a Discipleship Group...
